7 : A thrilling time at Malaysia’s theme parks

Everyone has at least once in their lives wanted to run amok in a theme park. Although nothing comes close to Zombieland, the few parks in Malaysia can give anyone a run for their money. Here’s the few theme parks that we think you should pay a visit. From water parks to extreme activities, there’s an activity for whatever experience you’re looking for.

1. The Lost World of Tambun

Located in Ipoh, Perak, this park is a nice holiday get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s a well planned place with everything you need for a great time. If you feel that you want to keep dry, head over to the amusement park where there are lots of rides waiting for you. Take a shot at the Storm Rider or the Dragon Flight, where you may be dry but you’re feet are definitely off the ground! Get wet at the water park or just take a stroll into the Tiger Valley and see these majestic creatures in action.

2. Genting Theme Park

This is one of the bigger theme parks in Malaysia and boasts to be the biggest one in our land. You can have fun at the indoor park or check out one of many thrilling adventure rides at the outdoor theme park. The cool air and activities for you to do make an exhilarating experience! You can relax on the many leisure rides or get your blood pumping with something bigger like the Space Shot. After that, there’s nothing like going to a splash at the water park to cool off. We’re sure you’ll have a fun time high above the clouds.

3. Berjaya Time Square Theme Park

Something close to the heart of the city, this theme park is actually inside a shopping mall. The place is pretty huge measuring approximately 13300 square feet and is located at the fifth and seventh level of the complex. You can take a pick from the six rides if you’re seeking some thrills. If you want to relax and take it easy, the Fantasy Garden makes a great family bonding session due to the eight leisure rides that takes you through the Garden Avenue

4. Desa Water Park

One of the older water parks in Malaysia, it is still a place that will give you a run for your money. The place boasts of an array of exciting water rides and slides including the longest master Blaster in Asia, The Thunderbolt. Although it may not be as big it still is a fun place and being located in the city, and one of the few places in town with night fighting paintball games.

5. Bukit Merah Laketown Resort

If you’re looking for something on the greener side, Bukit Merah Laketown Resort is the perfect pick for you. Built nearby one of Malaysia’s largest freshwater lake, the place is only three hours away from the KL. It’s one of Peninsular Malaysia’s premier eco-tourism destinations and the resort offers a variety of things to do especially the only Orang Utan Conservational Island in this part of the country. The unique park has many educational walk in enclosures where you can get up-close with nature and giving you a chance to interact with the animals. You can stay in the resort of rough it out at the lakeside campsite. There’s also the water park for you’re to have some wet and wild fun. Want something more adventurous? 6. A’Famosa Water Theme Park

Occupying a land area of 20 acres and is the only theme park in the southern hemisphere of the country. It has pools and slides of every kind from slow relaxing lazy pools to high speed water slides. The park also boasts a man made beach and all of its water slides are made to give anybody a fun time, including those sophisticated water enthusiasts. There’s also an Arabian Village with many displays for the kids to check out. A lot of people make it a point to challenge themselves with a marathon of the water rides including the seven story high speed slide. If not, just enjoy the ride on the longest lazy river in the world.

7. Sunway Lagoon Theme Park

Everybody knows Sunway Lagoon after being awarded by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) as Asia’s Best Attraction for four consecutive years. This place has everything spread across the five different sections. You can cool down in at the Water Park or go for a hair rising experience at the Scream Park. There are tons of rides at the Amusement Park or do something crazy like bungee jumping at the Extreme Park. For animal lovers get up close and personal with those furry friends at the Wildlife Park. With over 80 rides and attractions, it’s quite a lot to check out in a day, so you better get there early.
